This Privacy Policy explains how the Nightglass Files website, the official website for the Operation Nightglass book series by Daniel G. Worthington, handles information about visitors. We aim to collect only what is necessary and to be transparent about it, consistent with the general principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality of the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

Information We Collect

• Email signup: if you choose to join the Nightglass Files email list, we collect your email address, signup and consent times, signup page, subscription status, and verification status. Campaign source, medium and name may be retained when you allow analytics.
• Campaign attribution: if you allow analytics and arrive through a tagged link (for example from TikTok or YouTube), the campaign labels in that link (source, medium, campaign, content and term) are saved in your browser for the visit and as the first campaign that brought you here. These labels never contain personal details and are deleted if you reject or withdraw analytics consent.
• Abuse prevention: to limit repeated signup attempts, a one-way hashed version of your network address may be stored temporarily. It is not used to identify you.
• Preference storage: your cookie choices are stored in your own browser's local storage.

Public visitors do not need an account. The private administrator area uses Google sign-in; subscriber records are available only to explicitly authorized administrators. We do not collect payment information.

Why We Collect Information

Email addresses are collected only to send Nightglass Files updates, new files, and series announcements to people who asked for them. Abuse-prevention data is used only to protect the signup form.

How Information Is Used

We do not sell your personal information. Your email address is used only for the purpose you agreed to. Email delivery and campaigns are not currently configured. New requests remain pending and are not activated without email verification. When email delivery is enabled, confirmation and unsubscribe links will be provided. Authorized administrators can unsubscribe or delete stored requests.

Cookies and Tracking

The website does not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If such services are added in the future, they will remain off unless you consent. You can review your choices at any time through the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

Google Analytics 4 collection has been prepared but is not yet configured. When enabled, it will collect consent-permitted page views, book interest, outbound Amazon clicks, signup success and aggregated traffic information. Email addresses and subscriber records are not sent to Google. Newsletter consent is separate from analytics consent, and optional analytics can be rejected or withdrawn. Outbound Amazon clicks do not establish completed purchases.

Third-Party Services and Links

Signup information is stored with our website hosting and database provider, which processes it on our behalf. The website links to third-party sites such as Amazon, YouTube, TikTok, and Carriage Lane Publishing. These sites are not owned or operated by Nightglass Files, and their own privacy policies apply. Book purchases are completed on the retailer's website, not on Nightglass Files.

Data Retention

Email signup information is kept while you remain subscribed and is deleted upon request. Abuse-prevention data is kept only as long as needed to protect the form.

Security

Signup information is stored in a private database that is not publicly accessible. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, including the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, you may have the right to be informed, to access, to correct, to object, to request erasure of your information, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
